10 year anniversary

so i just realised that the 10 year anniversary of our platoon passed.... which totally passed me by. Somehow i always get depressed when i see these updates... reminds me of mistakes made that can never be undone, chances missed that can never come again, and friends lost that will never give me another chance to be part of them again. looking at the seniors, looking at the juniors, I never saw this coming.... for me to be on the outside peering in.

memories of those days are blur.... it's probably a subconcious self defense mechanism. what the hell am i doing. i'll probably never let this go and every now and again i'll fall into this black hole of depression. amnesia sounds about good right now. cos if all the memories were bad then it might not be so bad. but to have people i loved as sisters cut me out of their lives... well it's just too painful. i realise that no one reading this will understand what i'm talking about cos no one i noe after those days know the details of how i was/am a failure.

depression ain't a bad feeling... cos u become kinda numb and cushioned from the rest of the world.... functioning ain't that big a problem cos pple don't tend to pay very much attention to you in the first place... numb is good. getting there from the pain is kinda difficult though. sf, i still do think of you now and again.... i wish things turned out the way we talked about on msn... but i have to believe you are in a good place now. i'm sorry i didn't go see you this year or talk to the pt cs... but i think i don't want to intrude... you all are still in my thoughts and i wish i did better.

lol. I'm hoping that by writing all that down... i'll frighten myself into settling down to do some serious work....

shaking now. oh blagh. will read my rm1 readings now..and tom pray to god that inspiration will hit me and i'll get tru studio without richard ho thinking i'm a useless student....

this is depressing. 1 post in a month and it's a rant... oh bother.

CNY aftermath

and so CNY is over.... not the 15 days but then the nice little break that we had before masterplan production week...

not much visiting this year.... which is a good thing... so i got to sleep more and watch more tudou... hahah. totally not what i was supposed to be doing... but seriously one does not have the mood to think about dissertation during the festive season...

but then again the fact that the balloting and the abstract are due 22nd Feb... that is scaring the bejesus out of me.... i don't even know whether the "thing" i'm supposedly interested in is valid for discussion! or whether it's a sensible thing to discuss in the first place.

I finally updated photos in facebook... ct council gang first on the list.. u guys should be touched... haha... and since facebook like quite easy to add pics.. i think there's gg to be more that i'll upload!

yawwwn. 3am plus le... i think i'll just go quickly glance through RM readings and go sleep le... my god. i believe i gained more understanding in 1.5 hours in lillian's class than like 1 semester in rashid's class.... oh heaven. i should have just taken this module this sem instead of last.... wasted time last sem.. bleagh... off to read 'me and my shadow', innocuous sounding title... but 11pages worth of cheem-inology...=P

thursday studio~

i'm proud of myself.... 2 days running and i'm blogggin! but the real reason is that i'm starting to like talking to myself.... or at least talking to blogspot... it's highly therapeutic... and pretend-worlds are great.

studio today wasn't very productive i think... richard ho spoke on certain issues etc.... made me rethink my opinion of him.... at first i thot he was the more commercial type of architect... but now i realise he might just be different.... hopefully that means that he can guide us to injecting some greater meaning/sensitivity in our final sem project.... i have high hopes for the sem... in that i see its relevance and its possibilities... we talked about the sense of place or lackthereof in SG.... my point being that the feeling of placelessness is exacerbated by the knowledge that nothing that we hold dear is permanent. In the bid to cultivate singaporeans that are cosmopolitan and adaptable, we have simply been uprooted and cast adrift... everywhere in the world is the same to us, while it makes us successful on one hand, it's kinda of a depressing future... the conversation tho about such a heavy topic made me quite enthu about the whole thing... cos it's dealing with real issues and not at our own whims and fancies, which makes me feel less of a fraud... lol.

however, the masterplan is simply a headache so far... some are simply not really interested it seems.... like just waiting to see how things fall and then move on to their indiv projects... and i guess this time round i'm quite adamant on my own views, so perhaps i'll just work it through on sunday and see if it makes sense in the end. heritage/tourism/capitalism/cultural sensitivity/sense of place/genius loci/identity/self sustaining/pride in national monuments/paris and the parisien pride/new yorkers and the new york attitude/chicago land of great architecture... hm... there must be something there that i'm missing... what can define siem reap that is not contrived? is it really tourism or something more? opinions will be welcome.... I truly miss the long hours of discussion we had in year 1.... no one seems willing to do that anymore... i suspect those long discussions are what made me love archi in the first place... the discussion of concept/context, m(arch)ud is beckoning..... it might just be my salvation cos god knows my sense of aesthetic is to say the least inadequate in this time of design stylists...

boardgames on saturday my house... how come the people i wanna invite are not interested while some people that i'm not that familiar with just simply wanna come? it's gotta be the free games attraction in the latter case, who gives a damn whose house it is anyway... but at least the exchange bunch are coming.... looking at how much trouble i have to go thru to org this... i'll just bring a game or two to sch next time...

got teased today... not quite used to it since it doesn't happen all that often to me.... i'm like the epitome of low-profile underdog... and besides that kind of teasing just doesn't seem to fit someone like me... kinda too unlovable to make any gossip believable... but perhaps cos there's no new gossip in studio so people must just be thinking to pass the time. I honestly don't quite mind it just laugh it off i guess tho it reminds me of what i do not have in my life or rather never had in my life.

listening to yang zhong wei's new album now... it's so unhealthy.... his voice is so blardy sad that if i dwell in all my unfulfilled wishes further i'll push myself back to that helpless state of last year. that was quite a scary period... i'll never again say that things like that can be controlled. I don't care if that makes me weak or seem like scrambling for excuses cos now that i've climbed out of it once, i know it's as real as it seems at the point in time. the damage is just as serious and the impact of insensitivity just as devastating.

something in my mind points out to me that having an outlet to vent might just help me keep my head, albeit an inanimate object. so just to those who are reading this, i'm not trying out to be some melodrama queen or some pathetic soul... it's just me trying to come to terms with things happening in my life... doesn't mean that i'm a miserable human being all the time... it's just a private avenue for me to reflect.

Oh sigh... it's 430am now and what am I doing? stuck on my com fiddling with my mp3 player... give me an ipod anyday.... iRiver is driving me nuts..... i was supposed to update the songs... and guess what happened... it happily erased 3/4 of the existing songs... so now i have to re-transfer.... thank god i had the foresight to keep the original song selections on the laptop. blast.

and tomorrow there's studio... oh joy~! *sarcastic sniffing*

I haven't sorted out the siemreap wishlist/vision.
I haven't proofread the studio site report. (but that's cos people haven't sent me their SWOTs)
I haven't finished reading the rotterdam portcity notes.
I haven't started on the urban workshop case study points. (see above regarding rotterdam)

and this is only the 4th day of school.

sigh... and i thought with a 2 day week i would have a pleasant last semester.... oh well.... it was always too good to be true.... what with the added burden of dissertation looming on the horizon and me absolutely not knowing what I'm even interested in for my dissertation topic. fantastic.

and financial woes.... i don't think i can handle a part time job this sem... and the banks have sent out the final summary on how much i owe for my so called world-class education.... comes up to a terrifying amount of 33K. interest-payable the day i graduate.

and tas related stuff. somehow i lack the enthusiasm for all the planning and meetings and brainstorming... and that's kinda unfair to the com since i ain't really putting in 100% effort. the exchange people are all back.... which on one hand makes me happy to see familiar faces, conversely makes me aware that i really don't belong anywhere in archi... i'm just a drifting soul. no constant group of friends - story of my life.

lots of people have commented that I don't update my blog for eons.... but then I think, I invariably moan/despair/complain/rant in my entries... so well i know my life isn't great, so why tell everyone else that i'm sad? makes it even more pathetic right.

hm, but there are good times interspersed with the bad. if i can bring myself to bother putting up pics again, it kinda shows that i still have a reasonably good life.... let's rewind back to after everything ended last sem...

first off.... slacking.... and slacking.... and slacking.... then the mad rush for the pre-site visit presentation... then 4th dec off to cambodia... angkor beautiful angkor... site studies... bad experiences there... then phnom penh... then ho chi minh... photos galore but like increasingly so most pictures have no one in them... 17th dec back to sg dead broke...

back to slacking.... and suddenly it's the christmas season~! met up with our diminished ct gang minus clare and darius... but at least caught zhenhao=) hopefully we can meet up before u go back to the states.... then christmas eve was kinda different this year... went to watch emma carol at hyatt and then back to whampoa for hawker dinner with von and pk... and i still think our impromptu home manicures were kinda funny... lolz.

if i'm not wrong the next few days were spent immersed in books and grey's anatomy.... until the 30th... meet up with the hanyang students at Central... seemed like not so long ago where we were making regular trips to boonlay to meet them... and now they were going home... glad to have known some of them... resolve to keep in contact.... we had some great times with them... 31st lunch with the koreans at cpg... songyi's birthday...=) i realised novena sq/velocity is a hidden gem... haha must go there more often... then off to meet pk and von for the shiok ktv at chinatown... 10 bucks only on eve of public holiday where to find right... then off to meet mom and dad for dinner at farrer road... phew. that was a tiring day....

academic results... drumrollzzzzz. I survived.... better than i expected which is a supreme bonus considering my near suicidal state last semester... james leow sem is officially not my worst sem to date.... yr4 sem1 is now the ultimate low of my university education...

and then new year... steamboat at xingyun's house 2nd jan... great game of saboteurs... ^^ great start to a new year.... then 3rd jan games at minds cafe... tas meeting.... studio meeting...sending off the various koreans... kinda sad at that... finally meeting up with rgs family... then 11th jan... gareth's back! lolz with all the racist jokes and irreverent comments... hahaha

and then school starts~ site report site report.... refer back to the earlier paragraphs for what is going on in studio.... lolz.

5am now... sleep is now a priority... and somehow prozac or valium seems fitting somehow... or perhaps a shrink. *lame laughter* I should keep busy so that last sem doesn't creep back up on me. yes weilin don't think too much, time goes by but life has to go on. and so just get on with it...

archi boardgames at my house this sat.... hopefully it doesn't get postponed yet again....
which certainly means i must finish making my room decent for visitors' eyes.... *grimaces* but like dad says it's good for me... haha.

time to sleep.... and perhaps tomorrow will be good.~

so speaks our great tutor - taykhengsoon...

today was another exhausting but quite rewarding day... there was a guest lecture by this Mexican architect - Alfonso Ramirez Ponce... famous words by the architect:

"we are who we speak - we speak in Mexican, think in Mexican, dream in Mexican... therefore we are Mexican."

"globalisation + localisation = glo-calisation" which is the new state of globalisation today...

and that was where we kinda all got lost...=) but the music was cool la.. and the way the lecturer sang the songs!!! haha. like free concert like that, then still got the projection of the media player visualisation as the background... his grandson also in the audience... quite funny the atmosphere... and the way he used brick. zai... really zai... the spiral staircase in brick! holee-molee...

then there was studio at like 630 loh... wah so drained... then everyone so petrified will get slammed.... but in the end it was alright afterall.... tks really got give helpful comments loh... although it's very hard to accomplish what he expects us to do, but at least got direction... and here comes in the intelligence and courage comment... basically we all are smart enough to do what we set out to do, it is whether we are brave enuff to venture forth! haha. ie when we try to evade the issue (namely studio work.. guffaws) or say we are stuck etc, we are merely wallowing in self-pity and avoiding reality... that got almost everyone in stitches afterwards when we were analysing studio... muha. and the final comment that cracked everyone up was, "singapore is a democracy under total control." muhahah. that's a oxymoron if you ever heard one... hahaha.

so to summarise what i have to do:
argh. what crops am i growing?
how to collect freshwater?
how to utilise the waste materials in the most efficient way?

and do everything in both quantitative and qualitative approaches... wah seh. any helpers out there? hahah. and for those who are not aware... i'm basically designing a floating eco-farm this semester.... way cool. see whether i 'drown' or not...

tks also helped a lot with understanding the relationship between the latin am. music and the style of architecture of Mexico from the guest lect... haha now our guest lect review no need to worry le..=) sweet!

sigh... i think i too shacked le.... my blogging is sounding very stilted.... a lot of things on my mind.... tom got studio.. but mostly go there and listen i guess... thank god today i had my crit le... in the end, the sense of doom that i woke up with this morning turned out quite positively at the end of the day.... hope everyday ends like that. hahah. yawn...~

yes. and I made it to less than a month after my last post. I wonder if anyone still actually reads my blog or am I rambling to myself in cyberspace.

Tho it's technically Tuesday, i'll talk in monday terms... after all the drama of balloting for tutors, this one good that one no good, that one go overseas that one useless etcetcetc... I settled on Mr Tay Kheng Soon... of Akitek Tengara... ( hope i got the spelling right..) and then it was praying time that I'll get him... and then thank the gods and goddesses la.. (altho it's too early to judge) i got him!

Welcome to MuzFloat studio... the brief being a floating community and all.. so i thought my own private moniker for our studio is quite apt since the students must try to float but our buildings must surely float... hahaha.

Anyway, it was the first day of studio.. and we were all waiting in trepidation for him to arrive... by reputation (my only tutor thus far that generates a lot of entries when you google him=P) and stories from seniors... we had a lot of preconceived notions about how his studio would be like... he was almost late for an hour cos he was meeting the vietnam pm and our pm at the istana... the coincidence zai loh.. my brother was there also... on some sembcorp business... shook hands with pm also... wah. up and coming loh my kor.. haiz. and see where i am? haha. that's a convo for another time...

back to studio... so the dean came in and asked us if tks was there yet... we were all like nope.. then dean go and contact etcetc... so we started studio at about 330pm... when like the F1 studio ended la.. hahaha. it was quite comical... when tks came in almost all of us stood up... like at attention like that... and true enough his first few questions we kinda predicted.. though there was no answer in sight la...

TKS: "So, how many of you here chose me as your first choice?"
~the whole class put up their hands... tks looks a bit gratified and says...
"so you know what you signed up for?"
~at which everyone looks furtively at each other and gives him a weak smile.
TKS qn 2: "So, how do you plan to inspire me?"
~total silence from all of us with uneasy shifting in seats, atmosphere hits a high in awkwardness... i think he takes pity on us and moves on to the next qn...
TKS qn 3: "Let me ask you, what do you think design is?"
~and you can see the wheels in everyone's minds start to turn furiously and try to come up with an answer that is not too fluffy and politically correct and it turns out the conclusion is architects are problem solvers and we are kinda a socialistic studio... hm.

studio then got more intense with an impromptu 1 hour sketch of our dream home... yikes. haven draw in donkey years la. then roundtable presentation loh... then thursday studio will be a painting of our names... "throw away all your preconceived notions, lessons, ideas!" "break away from the norm!" etc... we'll see how that goes.. *weak laugh*

we ended about 7plus maybe... with tks parting words, "thank you, today was not as bad as i imagined it would be." wow... xy and i were saying after that... we felt so gratified that we didn't suck as bad as he thought... haha. that sounds quite dramatic hor.. but it was like "wah! we don't suck! hahah. we got hope!"

All in all... i feel quite hopeful after today's first session... the brief is very interesting.. with little precedences to study.. so we dont feel like we are copying or adapting anything... which on one hand is tough to have no examples to learn from... but on the other hand... we'll probably change some of our design/studio habits..=) i like that.

here's to a good year four sem one.=)

okie... this is disgraceful!!! and thank you darius for the knock knock.. otherwise i won't be paiseh-ed enuff to update... so tired and busy nowadays... hiaz... but today there is something nice to blog about weilin ultra-boring life...=)

the korean exchange students are here!!! went to pick them up from the airport just now... and then treated them to some local food.... their accom is rather inconvenient... at boon lay. omg. haiz... hopefully the school can do something about getting on campus housing for them... hiaz... but anyhow... will be spending the whole day tomorrow with them... bringing them ard etc... hopefully we can be as much help to them as their seniors were to us when we were in korea...

yep.. gotta dash to do some research on SG... haha. you got that right.. they asked some questions so we have to find out..=)

and darius.. about the korean dinner... next week thurs? or the following week le...=)

In memory of...

one year ago, i wrote an entry to say goodbye to shufang. time flies and it's been a year since then. Whenever I think of you, I think of the rgs days and your platoon mates. It's like an epitome of courage under fire, and I hope that wherever you are now, you are safe, well and whole.

I wouldn't dare to say that you have been in my thoughts all this while... but you do pop up at unexpected moments, reminding me that life as it is, should be treasured and fought for, like the way you did. I do believe that you are looking at us, those who knew of you, knew you and those who loved you and I guess you're looking after us in your own way...

I've been thinking about you on and off these few days, still regret that I didn't get to say goodbye, but I trust that you hear me now. I thank you for showing me your grace and by turn showing me the grace of your platoonmates. I don't think I will ever forget the way they sent you off, I will never think that friends cannot become family, for they were that, your sisters in every sense of the word.

I hope you're at peace now, and I'll think of you today.

Autocad idiot no longer!

well.. decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone… 43Things and blog abt work at the same time.. hahah.. some parts might be irrelevant.. hahaha. going back to first day at work loh… hour plus crash course in autocad… and it proves my theory that u have to “need” it to learn it… so now that we “have” to use cad everyday at work… i’m more or less familiar with it… although only half la.. since i haven’t learnt 3d autocad at all…

everyday doing cad… most of the common shortcuts can liao… but i still not sure if there is a shortcut for dimensioning.. must remember to go check it… it might save me a heck lot of time… or maybe i should think about where the toolbar should be placed… hahhaha. i sound like a weirdo even to myself… i want to talk abt the presentation we gave hockbeng on sat.. but it doesn’t belong in this post la.. haha.. next post then… time to sleep soon anyway…=)all in all… finally learning cad… fantastic.

Clockwork Orange down~!

woah… finally finished this book… i have to say although I enjoyed the style of writing… it’s really quite fascinating… but having to work my way through all the viddied-ing and sloshing about, making sense of it when i’m only half awake on the way to work… it’s gave me some headaches at times… took me about 2 weeks to finish it… which is super long for me usually… but considering that i’m on internship now… which only gives me an hour or so a day to read.. well.. not too bad also…

it’s good also that this book really forced me to read word by word.. haha… otherwise i’ll be skimming along in my usual style.. hopefully the habit grows.. haha.

now I’m moving on to a new book.. recommended by my boss at work…. it’s a very thin book, by Junichiro Tanizaki called “In Praise of Shadows”. It basically examines japanese aesthetics and how shadows are celebrated and so forth… I think it’ll be a rewarding read… after this book i think i’ll move to non fiction for a while.. borrowed 2 books from office library.. but haven read yet.. heh.. but “the failure of modern architecture” is really a tough book to open and start reading… hm.. ganbatte to me then..=)

First 2 days at work!

I have to say.. some parts of the day are hard to get through.. especially that period of time after lunch break... shhhooo sleepy...=P

but today had a session with tan hock beng.. haha. i think he can go become an inspirational speaker liao... he make me think... perhaps i can really do archi for the rest of my life... it is possible... now looking forward to site visit and other stuff. Although there is some level of stress.. we are after all year 3s... cannot imagine if i hand in some lao pok detailing... aiyoh. cover face and die man...

what is architecture? that's a qn that thb asked today... and it's one of the qns that i really dread answering... cos there really is no right answer and i think i haven't seen/done/studied enough to make a worthwhile answer to that. that's disturbing and not to mention just that bit depressing...

presentation is based on the topic, "play of use and use of play" - ties back to functional ornamentation etc, reference herzog's work... help people help... anyone who's willing to discuss this with me... will be grateful... essentially our kind of aki, as in what we learn in sch, stems from modernism... dealing with issues of functionality and the 'less is more' kind of stuff. etc etc etc. u can see there's lots to think about. back to hitting the archi books...

who knows man.. maybe year 4 will be the year that i get back my enthusiasm for debating and 'living' a more meaningful aki year... hopefully... really. if that really happens... i will owe this internship a big one i think.

weekend's here... play like mad... and then back to work on monday..~

urban bbq and so on...

okie. well that's 2 days almost in a blur... hah. urban bbq was on thursday evening.. as usual everyone was late... long ya men is actually made of fibreglass... but overall it was kinda a whole nice round of to a sem.=) glad i went, having missed the last 2 on exchange... a bunch of us left early... got jio-ed to kbox...

geoffrey and friend joined us about at abt midnite... imagine my surprise when geoff said he was coming... haha... never heard a single note out of him before man... but in the end... still not a squeak out of him... hahah. oh well... there will be other chances..=)

we sang until like 230am... cos the machine hanged on us and we decided that it was high time we went home anyway..=) thanks zl for sending me home man... otherwise i cannot imagine the horrific taxi fare i would incur... living in punggol is sometimes really bad and paiseh when friends offer to send u home.. haiz. sorry to all friends who had the misfortune to send the ultra roadblind weilin home to the end of singapore...=)

then friday... aiyoh. got aki lunch at chowon gardens... how to wakeup!! haha.. in the end rushed down etc... food was okie... but kinda exp for the quantity... hai. togi is still the best value for money i guess... muz go there soon.=) anyone interested? haha.=) any evening on/after 2nd may! i'm good to go!=) then we went for desserts and met up with zhangyu at ps to watch fracture... it's been quite a while since i watched this kinda flick... but it was really quite good.=) anthony hopkins rocks man. make me wanna watch silence of the lambs all over again. haha. and ryan gosling did quite a good job too... seeing as how he's starring opp hannibal lector after all=P

then it was dinner at cartel... stuffed man i tell u... svc still ain't that good... but then again they removed the svc charge.. so i won't complain all that much... no photo posting these few days... gotta sort out internship. darn it man. surbana is kinda mahfarn... sigh. and jalan bukit merah is like woah. FAR from my house. donno if I should go for the interview on monday when my portfolio is so unprepared. argh. please god... lets MAPS or MULTIPLY accept me with not too much fuss... 1K or more.. please.. i really need it... haiz. biang. i sound like a beggar... argh.

update on reading: a clockwork orange is hard work... but i'm finally at chapter 4... but that's after like 3 days! omg. the substitute words are just a bit hard to get used to... if u read it u'd know what i mean man... viddied, horrorshow, platties. argggggh. sigh.. but it is kinda like literary genius... yep. i'll keep at it.

Phantom and assorted meals~

cooking spree starts again...=) after eating out almost the whole sem... decided to cook up some simple stuff.. and anything to avoid that textbook... hah.
dinner on monday was the following...

asparagus... portobello mushrooms... grilled chicken with bawang=), baked potato with mushrooms and mozerella!!!
Then on tuesday... decided to put the foccacia to use.. i love gardenia foccacia.. it's the most useful bread around... heh. pizzatoast! my dad wanted me to make more.. heh.

and this morning... decided to try haemul pajeon (seafood pancake) cos I thot that our studio had to bring cooked food... I forgot to take pics of it.. and my parents had started eating when i remembered.. aish. so i took a pic off the net... courtesy of aromacookery.com.

It's basically, chives, squid, prawns... it's supposed to have kimchi... but i was lazy.. so substituted it with gochujang.. (red pepper paste) Since my studio's doing decor.. hm. donno if i should still bring it.. since i opened the bag of flour liao. guess have to see what time i wake up tomorrow then=)

Looking forward to urban bbq since we missed the two that happened when we were in korea..=) hope nothing too dramatic happens tho' =P

Well. that's the assorted meals part... now it's on to the fulfillment of a decade long dream of mine: to watch the Phantom of the Opera. I remember it last came to Singapore when we were in P4... rgs kakis will know that i was so bummed when i couldn't go watch it... and now finally it's here again! Although it was circle 3 seats... and i really was worried about the view.. it turned out to be good actually.=) with a little help from the binos... i didn't miss the facial expressions and costumes... Like seriously... i really wanted to cry when 'music of the night' started... and the boat scene at the back... when i remember that the closest i saw of it before was when they had a tv special of phantom behind the scenes...

the colours and extravaganza of masquerade... the falling of the chandelier... point of no return... and it goes on and on... seriously phantom was all i expected of it and more... no wonder Brad Little can sing the Phantom for 7 years... he was soooo good!

and yes i'm gushing in this longer-than-normal post... but really terribly glad that i finally caught this musical live... after 11 years of waiting... heh. so drama right? hahah.=)

well… for all those who know me reasonably well… will know that i’m a book-holic… those 5mths plus on exchange had been perfect but for the fact that english novels are hard to come by in south korea.=)

However… i’ve been noticing a trend to my reading habits… I haven’t been reading that many serious fiction or literature novels or poetry for that matter… not since my jc days… which will totally disappoint my gp tutor not to mention my lit teacher back in secondary school… I’ve been reading those light novels, contemporary stuff, light suspense/thriller kind…

don’t get me wrong… i’m not a book snob here.. i’ve read everything from sweet valley to plato.. it’s just that I feel i’ve been neglecting my literary education for far too long… i made excuses like sch is so dead stressful that i didn’t need to stress myself out further by trying to understand the nuances of serious lit… but i think my brain is in serious danger of stagnating…

and on a larger picture… i guess this is a bid to overhaul my life somewhat this hols… not really liking myself and my life at the moment… and starting with a relatively easier goal to improve my reading habits… since i can’t quite go without it anyway…

hopefully i’ll have good stuff to blog about after starting this 43Things stuff… it’s quite cool i think… if i succeed then i’ll have alot to owe the founder of this thing=)

hahah... first a disclaimer... I am NOT narcissitic... I was just surfing for photoshop tutorials... cos seriously i'm behind in brushing up my photoshop..sigh. so well... decided that colorizing will be my new goal..=) SO... instead of picking some random stranger's picture on the net... I decided to touch up my own! hahaha... it's a pic taken at the top of 63 tower in korea...

I went to the short cut route... didn't desaturize the original pic... just overlaid the colorizing layer... didn't do much.. lack of time... just a bit on facial features and hair... and the original is kinda too dark and the contrast sucked... my mom is starting her "go to sleeeeeppp" regime again... so perhaps when the mood strikes again.. i'll pick another pic to colorize from scratch.

I seek to emphasize arh.. I am not narcissitic arh. haha. ciao~

hell week is technically over... there is internal crit and riba to go through... but at least most of the hell is over... paneling and model making.. goodbye till next sem! yr 4! no more paper cuts... penknife nicks and pinpricks from wire mesh... 8( time flies man.... sigh... i don't feel any more ready to graduate and go out to the working world.. but that's another worry for another time...

went to dinner @ ps just now with jh, yf and belle.... brings back the good ole times in korea.... the food was really good.. i recommend manhattan fish market anyday over fish and co...=)
we went to carrefour to hunt for icecream and guess what? there was a korean fair going on!!! we saw our lotte waffle and shin ramyeon!!! muhahahaha. such simple things that tickle our soul... we are such simple people after all... *winks*

there are 2 more hurdles to cross before home free for the hols.... 20C hist... of which i know next to nothing about.. and aki con.. horrors of horrors... haha. 20 APR... the day weilin looks helplessly at a structures paper... oh well... there's hardly anything surprising about that... ;)

resolutions time again at the end of the sem... think will try something different this time round... things that sound simple but are really quite beyond me.... heh. like sleeping before 2 or 3 am. methinks turning my bioclock back to that of a regular person will be good for my lifespan in the longrun.=)

the overseas ct gang is coming home soon... can't wait guys...=) hols will be great...

First full day back in sg.... decided should make a post since i was so lazy in japan to blog more...=)

I just got my express package today... yay.. no longer clothes-less heh... and all the tea.. and my bearbear... and I got my new phone today! woohoo~~~ 0 dollar phone.. heh.. samsung z370... slim phone! heheh... new number is... so pple who read my blog please update ya..=)

sg is just hot... haha. food is good... had laksa and kuay chap and popiah so far... missing korea definitely... but being home with family is a good feeling la. but i think mom has saved up 6 mths of nagging for me... hahahaha.

lots to unpack and arrange... so maybe will blog pics later when i have time=) tata~

Left Ansan at 930 in the morning... supposed to meet woojung at Seoul Station at 1130... there was then some mixup with our KTX tickets... we were supposed to leave at 1145... but woojung thot it was 12 oclock train instead... so mad rush for 12nn tickets... it ended up to be a very rushed last few minutes in seoul... no proper farewell la... was quite sad about that... with the added fact that it was an honest mistake la.. and i felt bad that woojung was very upset that he made a mistake...

on the train.. woojung called about 1plus... to tell me about the arrangements for the ferry... we talked a bit about his christmas present and how i felt about leaving korea... and then said the goodbyes... after that as i was looking at the busan scenery going by... I couldn't help but start crying... it's like... that's the end of 5 months plus in Korea... time went by so fast...

next was the worry that we couldn't make the ferry timing... cos we were supposed to be at the ticketing at 3pm... but that was the time that our train got into busan... so mad rush for taxis and off to the international ferry terminal...

then we had a nice surprise with the ferry... it was really quite nice la.. tho the room was a bit small and hot... but quite a nice rest altogether.. and our last jimjibang onboard the ship.. then shopping at GSMart with the massive amount of korean coins we had left.. so paiseh..=) heh.. we got to osaka about 11am.. then after customs etc.. met roystern at about noon..=)

thank god for roy la.. he had the navigation done quite well liao.. so we just had to follow.. cos we were quite tired and all.. after finding the hotel.. (hotel kinki) heh.. cute name.. then we walked ard umeda area.. sat ferris wheel!! finally! heh. we debated a long time.. heh.. 500yen.. take or dont take.. that is the question...=P in the end we heck and just take.. heh. but i was thinking if only we could do it with a special someone.. but oh well.. shun qi zi ran.. then we headed for namba area... takopachi! heh. 320yen for 6.. then we saw 420yen for 12 i think.. heh.. roy super bu shuang.. so we bought that also.. hah. in the end the ojisan blur give us 16 instead.. we zhuan dao... then ate okonomiyaki also.. yumyum.. bonito flakes!!

after that came back to check in and smuggle roystern up to our rooms... the room is great la. got free internet lan cable.. which is why i can blog now.=) and msn!! heeh. the wonders of msn.. i can never survive without it... really. wanted to blog pics.. but very lazy to upload... so just text for now la=)

we ate dinner/supper a la jeju style which is dig out all the canned food.. and have a feast.. i hope the food goes faster.. then lesser to carry=) tomorrow we're gg awaji in the day.. hope it's a good day.. 7 days till sg... time goes by so fast...

this entry is super long.. hope no one is asleep by now.. i noe it's very boring.. but i decided to blog my journal entry instead of doing things twice liao la..=) hence the statistics..=)
quite tired now.. but don't really want to sleep... mind so full of thoughts about korea... donno how to sort them out...

1st heavy snow!

actually it was on saturday that we had the snow.. but knowing me.. 4am postings are kinda normal..=)

the snow was really really beautiful... it was a bit much.. in that walking with heels in snow is kinda tiring.. heh.. but thank god for the leather..=)

I can't describe the feeling.. of seeing the snow fall down... sure it's only water... but it's just really pretty and peaceful... it's amazing how the whole school is now blanketed in it... walking across the road is no different from walking across the field... everywhere is soft white snow..=) the forecast says it'll snow till monday.. which is great!!

snowfight!!! haahaahaa... that's the action part of it all... super duper fun... like playing in a giant ice kachang... wheee~~~~~ tomorrow morning we are gg to go Myeongdong cathedral for a service.... i hope we get to walk there in the snow..! light snow will do tho please.. heh... too much is too cold..=) and then walk ard md!!=) wahhaha. I'd post pics.. but too tired now and it's too late... another day then..=)

i have to go sleep soon... have to wake up at 8!! yikes.. oh well.. there isn't much time left.. so pali-pali wa!!!

New post in a very long time~

okie wow...haven't gone this long without making a post in a very very long while...

Lots of things happened between Nov 14 and now... it's like been almost a month. Significant highlights include... STEng Pavilion submission... once again thanks to gareth and thierry for helping us with submitting the project back in sg...

Then i took a hiatus from rushing submission and went to "Once in a summer" premiere with woojung and sue... thanks for the treat!!!=) And I saw lbh again!!! in korea!!! although it was only for a really really short time... the emo rush was still there... but I didn't go into fan girl mode.. so perhaps getting to become 21 is making me more mature then... not. haha. *grinz*

then it was back to reality and horror submission... where submission at 5pm really actually meant the next day to the koreans... it still bewilders me... but oh well... when in rome do as the romans do... but since I rushed it all out so just went back to dorm to relax for the coming exhibition crit...

then crit exhibition... where the sg profs came... prof chan and prof tse... felt like homecoming to hear singlish again..=) I didn't do too badly at crit... considering the nightmares that I was having due to slacking too much for design.. and luckily the panel liked my concept... thank god for photoshop.. i swear it saved my elevations and sections...

after crit... now that's a blank.. haha. we've just been slacking around... I did my hair! finally! I now have red hair and streaks... trust me... it really isn't as dramatic as it sounds..=) it's just a bit more jazzed up..=)

now is the mad cramming for finals... and trying to squeeze in all the possible play time... will go yeouido on wednesday.. heck abt gen structure man... it honestly isn't possible to do a project with 3 koreans who totally cannot handle english... I really tried.. but it's kinda hopeless... so let's just see how it goes...

Christmas is coming...~ I'm desperately hoping for a white christmas... lots of feelings about the festive season after reading gareth's latest blog entry... i like that entry a lot.. kinda reflects what I feel about christmas too... there are lots of ideals that i have about christmas... time with friends and loved ones... and that special someone who hasn't well appeared for me yet.. so oh well... but anyway, hopefully for us... Christmas being the last full day that we spend in korea... it will be special...keeping memories, leavetaking, well wishes...

TTT's and Primie's birthdays~

ttt's birthday was on saturday and primie's is on sunday.. so we had a joint party for the two of them... we almost had to have it up in the mountains if we had the temple stay this weekend.. but thankfully it was postponed... how in world could we have gotten a cake in a temple? heh.

anyway... ttt achieved 100% hit rate in his goal to get cream on everyone's faces... i can still smell it... heh. we went out to hongik university area.. and i have to say i'm really impressed by the level of creativity in the students' work that they were selling... the only thing is.. they are all super duper expensive... I noe they're one of a kind... but I can't afford 15oooW for 1 pair of earrings!!! omg. but I had to pass by so many... sigh...

and 11 nov is Paepaero Day in Korea.. something like Valentine's day... chocolate being sold everywhere... even FamilyMart aka 7-eleven had hordes of chocolate packages... nothing significant in that day for me.. heh.. but it was nice receiving some chocs from friends... and wanted to thank mike especially for the note.. really appreciate it..

Have to start planning time properly... lots of things to do before my friends come over in end nov for the movie premiere... Once in A Summer... finally here...=)

A whole big round of thank yous to all the people who made my 21st birthday a happy one..=) As it was, in the beginning I was sad that I was spending my 21st away from family... but in the end... friends made it all okie..=) pictures later after i get them from the rest..=)

It was the usual cake and chicken feast... but this time it was rather weird that I was standing there instead of with the rest.. heh... then ernie, jem, jl, cy and me went drinking and noraebang overnight after that... left our marks at muskebee.. and cy made another conquest.... heh... fun time guys...

Mouse Attack!

Yesterday night... residence 2 room 101. MOUSE ATTACK! first there were 2 BUG attacks... then now a mouse... sigh.. what next.. wait a minute... i hope there's nothing next...

but it was really quite a mini mouse... but still scared us witless... it first appeared on sc's table.. behind her laptop bag... then sc made a flying leap for my bed.. and stayed there quivering... ze mouse then made flying leap onto sc's bed... and of cos screaming ensued...

security guard, admin girl and korean fren came.. a lot of knocking on furniture.. and squeaks from us... security guard kept saying "eop seo yo"... which means dont have.. but we kept saying "have!!" haahaa.. Then i flipped over a fold of the bed covers and there it was quivering.. then it dashed!! Then I dashed!! out of the room that is... then it was gone...=(

Through all of it... sc finally made it out of the room... and stood at least 100m away from our door... heh. haaha... so long story short... sc slept in edlyn's room and I slept in amanda's room... ze mouse was stuck on the sticky mouse trap paper the next morning.. or so I heard... haahaa.

sc then proceeded to disinfect our room... now we smell of dettol... heh. I have a ultra clean wall..=)

itching to cut hair for past week... finally did it after studio... actually it was only a trim.. but woah the lady suddenly took out styling tool.. and woah 10 mins later i have curly hair. omg. A bit stunned at first.. but it kinda looks nice in the end...

then afterwards we played mahjong.. where i totally lost like no one's business... sobsob...

And now the qn is to colour or not to colour and what colour? marcus says green.. over my dead body... heh.

About 9 weeks left in Korea... i'm gg into depression...! Wishlist is ever getting longer with nothing being taken off it... Please let me watch FTTS live... and SGWannabe... go to Gyeonggi-do... watch Rain live in concert... and still survive design... and of cos not need to sell my soul to pay for all that. sigh.~

Prof Shin's house is nice.. like condo style in sg... and his daughter is very shy.. funny too.. hah.

October 13th 2006 - Rain's Coming

Went to watch Rain World Tour Premiere at Olympic Stadium (Sports Complex subway station)

It was way way WAY cool. I have to applaud the concept and production crews... very well done... in addition to the fact that it's only a showcase... not a full concert... the effects/lighting/laser were fantastic...

I'm very happy to meet the girls from CloudPhilippines... wanna plug them a little here... www.cloudphilippines.com... A big thank you to them for letting me tag along... especially Rizza... hope to meet up with them more before they go back to Philippines...=)

1 day back from Seoraksan... whole body is feeling it... my right knee and pelvic bone is wrenched or however else u can call the pain.. but I do think all was worth it... Seorak is truly very beautiful...

A lot of thank yous to go out... thanks to Jeremy, Zitao and Wenyao... and the two korean guys who accompanied me on the way down... I know u all could have made it much much earlier... altho u guys say it's alright... i'm still sorry for holding u all back and that u did not enjoy the way down as much as u could have... and i know helping me wore u out... so thanks again.. really.

Overall this trip made me see a lot of things la... strangers can stop and help you along the way... and perhaps sometimes it's not the point that you finished last.. but the fact that you did finish... I'm happy I made it tru... and the scenery... I must continue gushing about it... the reds, yellows, oranges, greens... against the stark grey and brown rocks... then the blue blue sky... stunning.. and awe-insipiring...

Okie.. so I came up with a bright idea to make up for the fact that I haven't been blogging for about 2 weeks.. horrors~! Time now is 1:43am... 时晨已过。。。哈哈哈。

Today went to Heyri Art Valley... super cool~! the houses there although we were saying a bit similar in that many use fairfaced concrete... but still very nice.. the whole atmosphere etc... the day started off with a hitch... in that seung hwan called to say his brother took the car.. so we were at a loss.. but luckily he managed to borrow his mom's car... so 5 of us... him, his friend ji eun, jem, me and prime made our way to Heyri.. on the way we drove along Hangang... and saw a bit of the Re-unification Tower... We took a lot of silly pics there... photo op galore man... heh.. HOpefully I can manage to get Prof Shin to bring us to Heyri and Paju Book City... den shiok liao...

Back to the main event... geoff's birthday is 17th Sept... so we thot we should do something when clock strikes 12 midnight.. haaha. so jeremy bought baek se ju... and i bought cheesecake... (haha.. i totally forgot that geoff is lactose intolerant!! sorry sorry!) but we'll make it up to you tomorrow night la.=) Then belle and I went to family mart to buy bbq chicken.. to represent university chicken... haahaa. smelled so nice when we were waiting for the guys to come down...

After celebrated tu di gong's bdae in style... with circus performances by cy.. using foot as phone... ed the 179 deg kicker... sc the varying pitch screamer... mica the stand and use foot as phone performer... tada~ presenting the new circus act of HYU. wahhaaa. Went on to gossip a bit with the girls.. but sc and ed were too high... on i have no idea what.. haaa. but yf and belle chased them out of the room.. heh. Now finished uploading pics... happily sorting!! lalala~ Tomorrow is D-day man.. presentation prep and 3D site collage... gotta go sleep now.. tata~ XXX

It's about 630 in the morning... and my bio clock is haywire... must have been the coffee at 1am.. had general structure presentation yesterday.. and it didn't go as badly as I expected... I guess it's the singaporean mentality... even tho we're s/u-ing all our modules... we still can't totally slack etc? It's a good thing and a bad thing at the same time... cos taking 6 mods seems to be getting to me.. and asian aki hasn't started...

Then I went back to sleep at 10pm to like 1am.. and now i think i'm screwed for the rest of the day..=( Don't care must sleep early tomorrow man.. cos Heyri Art Valley is for Saturday!! woohoo~~.. seunghwan's really nice.. I really didn't expect him to ask again after it was cancelled cos of rain the last time... so I was pleasantly surprised when he msged again asking if we were free to go...

We went to namdaemun and dongdaemun on wednesday for site study on wednesday... ended up killing 2 birds with 1 stone by shopping along the way... the guys are really "sun3 you2" bad bad friends...! I spent money again... =( But now I have funky shades... and a oh-so-nice jacket... and a shawl that won't fall off my shoulders..=) so yes.. I'll resist going to lotte mart and family mart for a while then..=) maybe that'll help a little...

I finally finished the update thingy that prof shin suggested i send to nus.. hopefully it makes for interesting reading for jasmine... cc-ed to prof shin too.. hope he don't thinks we spent our entire internship playing.. heh.. tho' it's quite true... *hides*

gg to catch a little shut eye now.. lalala~ i'm so going to die later..=(

This week doesn't look like a good week after all... Sunday evening was a bang tho'.. we went for the ballet that Prof Shin invited us to... I still can't believe that the tickets were 100,000W... It's called "Green Dance" and it was at Seong Nam Arts Centre @Imae station... and some of the group dances were quite magical...

The weather during the weekend was superr cold... like about 15 degs.. and the wind was blasting... so very grateful that woojung offered to drive us back to school... =P We stopped by to have a fried chicken dinner with some others who went for the ballet... and everyone ended up a bit high... haaa.. and cy's impromptu boyfriend part was so hilarious.. but I highly doubt that they'll remember what happened the next day... *guffaws*

But on monday we had our first presentation.. and i seriously didn't know what was going on... after that prof han told us our tasks for next week.. and it simply sounds bad...=( And there's general structure presentation and CM presentation... and readings! sigh. Things are not helping that I'm always finding myself out of the loop... I'm not asking to know about every single thing that goes on... it's just that given our friendship... I would have expected to hear about it just like other people. But perhaps it's just this way... sometimes we get so happy that we don't realise how people are feeling around us... I have to admit I'm guilty of that before... but guess will 注意 more from now on... I'll try not to make other people feel like this too.

But whatever now.. I'll try to psycho myself to think that it's no big deal... next week wednesday amanda and sh are suggesting that we go to carribean bay and everland.. cos the combo ticket is about 25,000W which is not cheap but very worth it... I'm not sure if I'll have studio.. cos prof han will be in states on monday so we might have makeup studio on that day...=(

It's almost 2pm now... Korean class is at 3pm... I'll try to study a little now.. and hope that perhaps good things will come my way for a change... That really doesn't sound very good... I donno how else to express it... but it's just a bit bleagh now~

CT people... I really miss u guys! Today.. or rather monday... was studio day. Prof Han came at about lunchtime.. if I knew I would have slept longer.. grinz~

as I expected.. we're having some problems with the light sculpture workshop.. manz.. I really hate working with light.. especially natural light...=( The weather isn't cooperating either.. there is no sunshine!!! it's all cloudy!! and it's cold!! haaahaa. and the lake's fountain keeps spewing dirty water at us... phooeey.

We decided to meet tomorrow at 7pm... with sketch models.. it's about 330am now.. I wonder if i will wake up with enough time to do work.. *winks* But Namdaemun site analysis isn't done yet... so yikes.. we got a problem... things are piling up... update and reflections to send to jasmine... settle bicycle stuff.. settle western aki presentation stuff.. readings for const. mgmt.. meet const. mgmt proj grp.. blah blah blah. Sounds a bit bad right? but life is still a-ok here... like hyoung jae says.. he hopes korea will become our 2nd home.. I think it already is... ~

going back to studio.. we nua-ed for quite some time... but I was really stuck for ideas... I really donno if the water balloons thing will have the light effect that we are looking for... and is that considered a installation or a sculpture? I have no idea... sigh.. interim is on wed.. must show prof woo.. *faints*

anyway.. the highlight of the day was of course the title of this post... WAHHAAA. Prof Han is fantastic... he brought us to the area called the international market.. for the fact that many ethnic groups gather here... it's like a mini UN... and the winner was when we saw and smelled CURRY. as in INDIAN CURRY. not japanese curry etcetc. the spices!! ooh. the colour!! ooh. and even the indian perfumey smell that i dont like. also ooh. haa. prof asked me if it smelled of home.. haaha.

altho the food took like forever to come... the briyani was simply worth it... omgomg omg. of cos it's not like the one daddy buys for me in singapore... but to taste authentic indian food in like 2 months was really great. and there was a soybean shop next to the indian shop... and jl, jem, ernie and I went slightly bonkers over the smell of 'dou jiang' haa. I think ernie started hallucinating...

The koreans seemed to like the food alright... the "paratha" I suspect is simply chepati la.. especially since they used the breadroller thingy to flatten it.. reminds me of the stuff we ate in Penang before going to Kekloksi..

sc's mama, sis and ah ma are coming over to korea for her birthday... that's so great of her dad man... grin.. she was like jumping like the madhatter just now la..=) and her mama's helping me bring some clothes and stuff over.. thanks sc!! thanks auntie!! at least now I don't need warm clothes urgently.. heh.=P

Quite a good start of the week.. and looks to get better from tomorrow on..=P cheers~

I totally forgot to blog on the first day of school.. today's the second then.. oh well.. yesterday was busy with all the timetabling and scheduling stuff... eeww.

our design studio is split into two projects this time... first 5 weeks is a group project for site analysis.. then the next 11 weeks will be spent on the individual project which has to do with the future developmental plans of a chosen bldg or grp of bldgs.. I donno it sounds complicated to me... hopefully we'll get enlightened along the way...

The others in my studio are ernest, junliang and jeremy... heng heng we got the same studio as jiwon, daedo and chungyeon... so at least there were familiar faces...=P Professor's name is Han Jin Taek.. kenn says he's quite easygoing.. so that's good sia..=P

Wondering about Spacegrp's team workshop next week... if they really do invite me.. then have to see whether ponning class is an option... *heehee*

oh yess... and I have a wacky roommate (her name is suching btw) who just sang this... I have no idea why...

Currently at Kim's Guesthouse which is near Hapjeong Station.. on the 2nd night of my travel alone.. it's just two days.. but seems like I had a lot of time to think things over.. good things and bad things... and I guess things are more peaceful in my mind now...

Just came back from Yongsan!! wahhaa.. where I bought my MP3 player and my webcam!!! the MP3 player got reduced from 433sgd to 230 sgd!!! wahhaaaaa.. cos 3 of us bought it in the end.. it's only a 1gb player.. so it's actually not cheap.. but I really do like how it looks... the shopkeeper said we were robbers without knives.. heh.. and I replied that we were innocent and poor students.. *guffaws*

and I got a damn cool looking webcam for 15000W! it's about 25sgd I think... when I get back to ansan.. I'll take a photo of both to show... heeheeh.. very happy now.. will be gg back early tom morning.. hope I can wake up.. so that can go out for the rest of the day.. haven't decided where to go yet.. but maybe we should visit woojung tomorrow.. either that or on friday.. have to find out which hospital he is in though.. he said he'll be there for about 2 weeks.. so it kinda sounds serious.. quite worried... =(

I'll write more about the past two days when i get back to ansan.. will go drink my pear juice and watch Friends season 1 now... tata~

So it's Monday afternoon.. and sokcho plans are scrapped.. due to finances and arrangemnents... talked to kenn last night and he helped me come to the conclusion that it might not be rewarding going sokcho alone either..

So change of plans.. going to slowly go through Seoul.. which I realised is a headache too.. cos there are so many different places to go.. hahaa. Kim's Guesthouse is full when I called.. but the lady told me to go try anyhow..~ hopefully budget holds..=)

So I've got to pack super quick now.. and go for lunch.. and then it's off for my lone journey... ~may there be nice surprises in store for me... Maybe I should just take it slow today and go hangang-ing and seoul tower-ing...=)

I hope there's a LAN point at the guesthouse!! then I can at least use MSN...=) tata now~~

Last day 'and' night of work...

18th of August... last day at work... it was great that everyone in my division was present that day... at least I could say thank you and bye to everyone... So I finished the detailing stuff... the revit model.. did some wire binding.. grin.. and checked out sokcho for the rest of the time there...~ grinz.

Went to main space building at about 4pm.. to get our certs and our salary... woohoo~~ went to bank it in immediately.. carry so much cash not safe sia.. heh. Then went back and bought ice cream for my colleagues... there are 10 of us in total in the team.. then it was wait for 6pm.. meanwhile team jang whipped out a camera and asked teresa to donno do what with it.. but when i saw her taking pics of everyone.. and me included.. i guessed it was something for me.. haha.. so just pretend donno loh.. so cute.. kept chasing me away from her workstation..=) and then it was team dinner.. aka farewell party for me too.. was so touched..

we had spicy pork bbq for dinner... and washed it all down with amarula, a african liqour that mr ahn bought from angola i think... and it tasted much like bailey's.. but it was even nicer... and then there was beer... and then there was soju.. omg.. almost K.Oed.. then we went on some drinking place for round 2... *faints* I honestly thought there wasn't round two!! then it was more beer... and more beer.. but Cass beer rocks la.. but the lightly battered fish fillets were fantastic with the beer.. and then out comes the red wine... 2002 Bourdeaux... I think i drank it before.. cos I saw "Camus" on the label too.. 2 glasses of red.. all thanks to Lito.. and I had to leave to meet ttt, jl and hj... cos hj was leaving on sat for busan.. and then US on 1st sept... Bon Voyage buddy!!! Have a great and rewarding time in the States!!!

Met them outside dunkins' and we decided to go somewhere near hj's place to drink and then stay overnight.. not that we had much of a choice after we finished drinking... and it was more drinking.. cass and soju... and we played hilarious games like indian poker... and a new korean game called "pabo" game.. which was literally quite pabo.. haahaa foolish in korean... ttt simply couldn't match his hands to his brain.. so haha.. drink drink then... muahhahaha...

I think I neared my limit bah.. good thing I didn't KO totally... yep.. so now woke up in hj's house.. waiting for the rest of wake up too.. tired but happy.. so it was a great day afterall~~!!

3rd last day @ Space and I'm sick...

Sigh.. it's the 3rd last day of work.. and I'm out for the count with a bad throat.. fever, and flu..=( Went home early from work.. and slept all the way till sc came home at about ten..

I was quite surprised when she told me geoffrey bought me a burger and she bought me cream puffs.. good dinner..=P Thank god for good friends especially when you're away from home... thanks all~

I haven't blogged about Incheon yet I think... and the pics are all still not up.. lazy lazy me.. =( But Incheon beaches were more like mud fight opportunities.. which was great fun..=) STH house was a letdown though.. since the house wasn't maintained very well, nor were visitors allowed to go in.. and the parasols on the stretch of beach more or less ruined the scenery!! At least we got to see Muuido at night and played with firecrackers... otherwise it would have been quite a sianz time to see the beach in the daytime... Talking about Muuido... we were so damn lucky... haha... we were supposed to go there from yeongjongdo island... and we thought the last ferry was at 8pm.. by the time we got near the ferry terminal.. it was already 8pm.. but we decided to just walk to the ferry terminal to try our luck... and we were walking quite slowly... but I made the comment that if we miss the ferry by a few minutes.. we would be very *dui*.. and wah seh.. as we were approaching the ferry terminal.. we saw cars gg in the direction of the ferry... our hopes got up and we sort of dashed to the ticketing booth.. and we really got the last ferry at 8:28pm.. when the departure was supposed to be 8:30pm!! wahaaaahaa. Then when we got to the island.. there was this last bus there.. and a young couple who could speak english.. who was also gg to hanagae resort... AND.. the ticketing guy at the resort also could speak english!! haahaa.. and tho our accom was super duper expensive.. it was the *last* one available for the night... grin... lady luck must have been looking after us that night...=)

Playing with firecrackers that night was really memorable... tho we were doing a lot of stupid stuff.. haha.. but that's what memories are made of I guess.. The next day we went to Incheon Chinatown and I shared seafood fried rice and "shredded chicken noodles" with sc... the latter is in inverted commas cos there was more seafood and mushrooms than chicken.. haha.. but the fried rice was really good!! sigh.. if there was white pepper at the table.. life would have been complete.. grinz.

Roystern and Geoffrey went off earlier cos Geoffrey wasn't feeling quite well.. probably because of the clam dinner the previous night... poor thing~~ And the 3 of us went in search of chinese confectionery.. heh.. we found this "bing" called "tao su bing" i think.. which tasted like walnut biscuit.. quite nice.. and the greatest find of the day was the BAO!! dou sha bao and cai rou bao!! haha... and soybean milk and youtiao! haha... altho the youtiao is not the freshly made kind.. to see something from home is still a great feeling.. we were goofing off in the shop.. and I think a MTV featuring mike and sc's eating faces to the tune of lin jun jie's doujiangyoutiao is in order.. hahaha.

Yesterday night talked to clarence on skype.. he was at daniel's house leeching wireless... talked for about 1 hour... haha.. made me realise 2 things.. I really want a webcam.. haha.. and I really miss the CTC gang... our jokes.. our crap and all the things we can talk about freely... yep.. 1 year will go by quite fast... the next time we can all gather together again will be in June 07...~

It's about 11:41pm now.. I should be going to sleep and praying hard tomorrow my throat will be better... and it's a horrible headache trying to plan the coming week holiday.. can't decide where to go.. but the east coast is a high possibility..=)
Dying to go Busan again.. but shall wait for the film fest in October then..~

I shall just try to fix my lousy photos.. I think the transfer hanged.. argh.. then it's off to bed!~~

Division Dinner!

woah.. was supposed to go with the rest to dongdaemun this evening.. but I found out later from Theresa that there was division dinner @ the Hilton Hotel... so paiseh to have made the rest wait for me.. but Hilton Hotel!! how to not go? *heehee*

The food was alright.. not much variety.. but all tasted great.. wah seh.. the galbi!!! omg the galbi!!! heh... alcohol was free flow as usual... drank white wine the whole night with Lito constantly asking for refills.. *faints* ended drinking about 5 glasses.. which is about as much wine I've ever drunk at 1 sitting.. then still had to navigate my way to Seoul Station... I just kept looking for the light blue sign for Line 4... haven't been so happy to see 한대압 역 before.. taxi fare was 2800W which isn't that bad considering...~ feeling rather groggy now... tomorrow going incheon!!! wahaahaahaa~ muuido here I come!! stairway to heaven!!! woohoo~~~

Going to shower now.. hopefully more pple come online later then can chit chat.. or perhaps I'll just conk out. haa. sounds like a brilliant idea...=)

Back from Busan=)

and so we're finally back... haha.. I think we're finally getting used to the travelling time... it was 3 hours by ktx... then 1 hour plus by subway... and i didn't really feel the time.. haa. donno if that's good or not.. haahaaha.

Got some of the pics from ttt but I realise we dont have a lot from the beach.. so sad... given that we spent so much time there.. haha.. should have at least taken a picture of ttt's "burial mound"..=)

I didn't manage to get stuff for my colleagues back from Busan.. so feel quite bad about it..=( tomorrow will buy them dunkin donuts and drinks for breakfast.. hope that's okie..

but honestly.. you win some you lose some... I had a great time in Busan... but still have some misunderstandings left behind.. hopefully everything gets better with time..~ and wah biang.. hengz like mad... i thot i did something wrong to roystern's mp3 player.. thank god it's just that the batt is totally flat.. phew~ I wanna go yongsan to buy mp3 player!! soon soon!! hiakz hiakz.

And now I have 17 mins left of internet time.. omg.. donno what to do with it... cos basically blogged most of the stuff that happend... so donno what to write in my journal now....~ heh. just write.. I wonder how the rest are doing in seoul.. hope they had a good time this weekend too.. I know that there was some friction about why only 4 of us went to busan.. but i still think some things cannot be helped~ it's not as if busan cannot go again bah.. so hopefully things will smooth over..

I'm starting to feel sleepy now..~ heh. looking forward to the soak in the pool tommorrow.. =) immune to the sights liao. heh. bet mom will be tramatised when i tell her about it.. heehee.

I think i'm really getting used to life here already... besides the language problem.. which can be overcomed if we have cellphones and if we can use charades.. haahaa. So all is good and right with the world now...~ can't remember the last time I had such a relaxing trip... no need to worry etcetc. everyone is anything goes one.. fantastic travel buddies..!

In Busan!!!~

I'm in Busan now!! heh.. last night liao. =( The beaches here are really nice.. heh. and I didn't burn! wonders of wonders.. haahaa. but maybe that's cos of the 130 spf sunblock i used.. heh.. after hallasan.. learn lesson already..=)

On Friday night, there was team dinner at work.. grin.. work is getting much much better now.. everyone suddenly so friendly.. I abit taken aback.. I wonder why.. heh. but anyhow... everyone keep refilling my beer.. *faints* then mixed with B-52s.. yikes.. but too bad had to leave early cos meeting ttt, jl and roystern at seoul station for our KTX ride to Busan... the original tix were priced at about 47000W... but we got our tix at 28000W! haahaa. 4 to go promotion... The train was at 920pm seoul time.. eta was ard 12midnight..=) teamjang kept saying "don't go busan tonight la.. ask my limo svc send you tom.." haahaa. but then the condition was that i had to work for space group for free for 3 years. haa.

Hyoung Jae met us at Busan with his car.. so grateful to him for the past few days.. we definitely wouldn't have been able to get our accom/food/tpt without him around..=) So we made our way to the first jinjilbang.. ie a public bath... we chose the one with the good view..=) Vesta Jinjilbang! the view of the beach and sea is fantastic.. We could only bathe at 3am tho.. so we sat in the "iceroom" and waited.. and waited.. and got to know some students from David Taekwando School.. they were darn cute... heh. the instructor was 29 yrs old.. but acted and looked just like one of them loh.. lolz.. the power of kimchiland..

The first trauma of the night was I couldn't bathe!! cos the girls' bath had cleaning time from 3am to 430am!! omg. so i rotted till 430 loh.. sigh. the guys were all sleeping soundly by then..=( The next morning.. cos I slept very little.. had to wait like forever for the rest to wake up.. roystern also woke up early.. so we tortured ourselves with watching food shows on tv.. heh.

We first went to Haeundae beach to walkwalk seesee.. the water was so tempting.. and the pple were super crowded... think Zouk Out kind of crowded.. heh. Then we went to eat a super huge bowl of pork stew.. yum!

Then it was time for the Daedapo Rock Fest!!! We made our way to Daedapo Beach and we couldn't tahan the temptation of the sand... cos it was white fine sand!! omg. haa. so we went in... the water was glorious.. but a bit weird.. haahaa. the top part was warm.. and the bottom was cold.. heh.

We couldn't take a lot of pics because we didn't want to risk our cameras near the water... which was a pity.. cos the weather and everything was so nice.. After that we went to eat ra-myeong for dinner.. it came in a large bowl.. like salad bowl like that.. shiok! Then off to the rock festival~ All in all... I liked 3 bands the most... Ska'shed Onions from Japan, Project Team & K2, and Delispice... they rock man! K2 especially... heh... but the lead singer for Ska'shed Onions damn cute..! heehee. reminds me of Jun Matsumoto from arashi.. hehe.=P There was a fire engine spraying us with water occasionally... so kept getting wet again.. heh. but it was great fun.. nv try stuff like this before mah... then towards the end there was also a great fireworks display.. of cos cannot compare to the one i saw in the states... at chicago.. but still felt real good~ the whole experience..

went to eat ramyeong for supper again.. i think ttt is addicted.. heh. then it was to another jinjilbang for the night... this one even better.. got aircon room one.. but u risk getting kicked by other pple loh... lolz. This one got gym.. haa. roystern was estatic... and internet!! haahaa. which is why we're here for the second night..=)

Then sunday... we started off late.. cos we couldn't locate some of the guys.. heh.. ended up must use PA to make announcement for missing hyoungjae... heehee. quite funny... then we spent the day at Haeundae Beach.. the water was freaking cold and the beach was swamped with pple... it was a sight... we rented a float and jl "stole" 2 others.. haahaa. cos I was a bit bleagh about the water cos it was quite deep and got a lot of pple.. I got to sit in the float and get ferried ard.. haahaa. beyond the fact that the guys kept rocking the float and splashing me.. hmph~ then we went on the beach where roystern finally got his long awaited tanning time.. and meanwhile i tried to get rid of sleeve line, sock line blahblah. not quite successful.. but heading there.. =P

Dinner time!! yumyum!! bbq chicken and fried chicken!! at a restaurant called Buffalo.. ha. then played some game at the roadside with some korean sugar candy.. will post pics later... hard to describe..=) we walked ard looking for chinese noraebang.. but cannot find... sigh.. but we found arcade with KOF!! tho i got beaten flat by roystern... hmph. bleagh.~ but like i said got homely feeling.. *hiakz hiakz* Then hj got a call from wj.. apparently he just arrived in busan too.. heh~ we went to watch a midnight horror movie called "ghost train".. which was such a joke.. heh... jap movie with korean subs... haaah. and no why no how no what to the story... *guffaws* went back to Haeundae Leisure jinjilbang.. which is where i'm typing this in the very hot area.. biang the aircon is set at 32 degrees loh. *faints and scold bad word* heh. have to go now... left 3 mins of internet time nia.. will post pics when get back to ansan.. and i have to sort the mountain of jeju stuff too.. yikes.. hope tom last day will have a good time too...~ and that i can find stuff to buy back for colleagues! tata~

stayed up late last night watching tokyo juliet.. shouldn't have but did.. so quite a drowsy morning.. had to keep standing up to walk around etcetc... things started getting better about lunch time... finally had lunch with my colleagues! amanda came along and we got treated to bulgogi! yay! and there was ice cream after that too.. heh.

then i finally finished the cad printing for Mr park... now should continue doing the revit model... but i really think there's something wrong with the floor plans.. it dont match the elevations i tell you... tsktsk...

wonder if I should go ask if anyone has work for me..=) There is afterall about 4 more hours before we can go home...=)

going busan this weekend! yippee! haven't asked for leave yet... oopz.. hopefully won't have any trouble.. and I won tickets to watch Sa. Choom!!! It should be pair of tix... wonder who i should go with bah.. haiz. but anyhow it's worth 45K won a tix... so darn happy now...~ the confirmed email haven't come yet.. but it should be correct.. haahaa.

first things first... hail to gareth~ my blog is officially korean music free.. hmph. so u can safely bring yourself here. so there. =P

2nd week of work... 2nd day of the week.. 3 more dreary days to go... Space Group might be the largest and best architectural firm in S. Korea... but if only the people were more friendly here? Hm.. I shouldn't complain since I'm getting both a salary and meal allowance to come here to revit a little... msn a lot... surf a lot and go toilet a lot... haahaaa.

I've a gazillion backlogged photos to upload and edit from jeju.. and my room's in a mess... laundry has to be done by tomorrow manz... Lunch is in half and hour's time.. heeheehee. going to watch MNIKSS with Yixiang.. lalala~

Hopefully tomorrow will be my lucky day and I'll win tickets to watch Sa. Choom, a korean musical.. the tickets are about 50,000W loh.. so if can win.. it'll be damn shiok..

so many places and things to do.. so little time... and so limited room to organise... not everyone can be happy la.. so guess just have to leave everything up to fate and providence..

hi all!! haven't written here in eons... *hides* haahaa. but today certainly happy enough to write..

Finally sinking in that i'm in korea.. the place that i've been wanting to go like for forever... Internship isn't all that great.. especially with all the travelling to and fro.. about 4 hours in all.. and the lack of "proper things" to do in office...

Of cos it's not a bed of roses... there's the nitty gritty and the delicate balance of people people relationships... and all the coordination... like jl said.. since I chose to take stuff on.. then I've more or less got to see it through..

The korean way of life.. or at least what we've seen so far of student life.. it's simply much happier la. Even tho I haven't seen any hallyu stars or watsoever.. I'm still simply content to be here..

The Koreans so far have been infinitely nice.. so much so that I feel quite "spoilt".. it's also such that I don't even miss home yet.. but sometimes I can't help but fret that we are simply having things too good.. I'm praying hard that we do make lasting friendships with the koreans.. or like xy says.. I might just settle down in korea.. haahaa. Perhaps it's a little of the "rose-coloured glasses" syndrome here.. i can't quite be objective now.. still a little high on soju.. should crash soon.. *grinz.*

Okie blogger is pissing me off. I can't even post something peacefully. here goes the last try.

It's almost 430am now.. and I can't sleep... the same song has been playing on the media player for the umpteen time. It's a wierd mood that I'm in now.. I'm neither here nor there... recent events have set me to reflecting... it seems like a natural thing to do... and the sum result is an overwhelming sense of inadequacy. Naivete. Sheltered. Somehow I have this feeling that I'm more comfortable with my com then with the people around me. Am I then finally turning into a recluse?

Or has that dreaded depression mode set in again? I'm getting addicted to walking aimlessly, alone, and for unknown lengths of time around my estate... nothing really goes through my mind during these times... but the encompassing feeling of aloneness. I realise the past sem has been a blur. for that matter my entire time in NUS thus far can be classified as a blurred memory. Unwelcomed images of rgs days surface in my mind... not that they were unhappy days.. but that they remind me of unhappy times. And I realise that the hurt of that time never really went away.. and I find myself having to deal with it all over again. Will I ever walk out of those shadows? I have to snap out of it. Self-esteem was hard won, and self-doubt is so easy to fall back into... god please guide me through this.

I'm sorry I didn't say goodbye.

I don't know whether it's right of me to blog about this, but it seems like the only way to talk about how I feel. I can't seem to speak of it, so perhaps writing it out will help.

I knew her back in rgs, in ncc where I guess the junior-senior relationship prevented deeper friendships from forming.. but my earliest memories of her was that she was a shy person, quiet and softspoken.. But in the company of her platoonmates, she could also be quite outgoing, playful and funny. That year of being a part c nco was fraught with ups and downs... I regret many things that happened that year, but most of all I think I regret not being a better senior. I don't know how the juniors thought of that year, but I'm sorry they had to go through some of the things that were not their troubles to begin with.

After I heard the news, I went back to my sec school photo albums, and the gifts I kept from the juniors... I'm glad what came to mind was the fun times we had during company outings, dinners; trainings and camps. I guess the point I wanted to say was to thank her for being my junior, for perhaps not blaming me outrightly for mistakes I made along the way... and to say sorry that I didn't see her in her last days... and that I wasn't there to say goodbye.

The juniors wrote stuff for us when we stepped down, and this is some parts of what she wrote for me, "We know we had been a disappointment to you all in many ways but we hope that we had been a source of happiness too.. we will work hard to do you all proud." I want to say to you, indeed I might have said that I was disappointed sometimes, but in retrospect it was never about what was done wrong, but rather that I hoped that you could be so much more... it perhaps sounds presumptive put in that manner, but I hope you understand what I mean. And I think being proud of you all was never an issue... I don't feel I'm in the position to, I'm just grateful that we had that time to learn together. As for being a source of happiness... you definitely were.. you and all your platoonmates... the small things that you all did, said to me, I treasure the memories truly.

I admit that I've lost touch with you and your other platoonmates... there was no excuse but that of university and life in general... I recall distinctly the time we talked about you coming into architecture and your cheerful optimism... I didn't know quite what to say to you.. but I truly did admire you. I'll try to take a leaf out of your book from now on... and perhaps live my life with more purpose, for you made me realise that we all only live once. I give my condolences to your family, and hope that love for you will allow them to stay strong... Shufang, I'll say goodbye to you tomorrow... but my thoughts and prayers will stay with you. I rarely think of the afterlife.. but I hope you're well and in a better place now.

yep... that's the aki table and it was the ONLY aki table.. yea well.. and we were there mainly cos of free tix... ended up with free tix, free dinner and i won 5th prize in the lucky draw! whoopee... 85 bucks worth of nivea products... though most of them are guys' products.. argh. but i never win lucky draw one kind can... haahaa.

Yea, been busy these days setting up the HanyangEX website... for the hanyang exchange.. here's the address... HanyangEX... check it out if you want... i'm quite happy with it though there's nothing much posted yet...

we're down to 18 people.. hopefully pple won't suddenly say not going anymore... yikes. it's slightly 2 months more before I leave... while I'm quite raring to go... I'm still a little apprehensive about being away from home for so long. I've just realised that there seems to be a lot more to do than there is time left... there's that traffic survey job next week.. of which i'm totally clueless about.. tsktsk... and outings to plan.. trying to figure out what to do with the 10 days in Korea.. and autocad to learn.. argh. That last one is definitely the bummer. I hope that publishing company really replies me with something to do otherwise the money for Japan will have to drop from the sky...=(

It was definitely embarrassing what happened today... but hopefully what's past stays in the past. Maybe if I say it to myself often enough I'll believe it. I've got to admit... reading my own blog depresses me too.. haha. Apologies to those reading... methinks I'll be stuck in this quagmire for some time to come... so there's a whole long list of unhappy and dreary posts coming up.. unless something good happens for a change.

I went to surf for Murphy's Law... man.. I really do believe in it... haha. but perhaps trying to take it in stride is the first step to being happy again. Like what my primary sch teacher said to me when I left school, "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Corny as it might sound, it certainly does make sense.

I'm freaking ticked off by myself.. these phases are blardy getting on my nerves. My blog turns out to be my venting station... pathetic sia. bleagh.

Supposed to be having CAD tutorial now... but simply no mood for doing revit... so just stumbling websites now... Will have to go finish up the 2223 slides soon.. tut is at 2pm. This morning's lecture for urban design was mindboggling... I mean I understood the english.. but I still don't get the concepts.. and the reading list is simply astounding.

Sliding into depression mode where I feel dumb about everything. Design isn't looking too promising at the moment too... concept may be too simplistic I feel... And self-absorption is simply bad for improving one's mood... everyone is too busy these days to sit around to mingle... CT pple.. i miss all of ya... School is too serious business. There are too many things to be done that I feel that my life is simply not mine anymore...

Hopefully CNY will afford some time to catch up on things... and I can get a hold on those things that seem to be slipping away... I just don't feel like I belong anywhere now... and I guess those who know me well know that belonging to something is important to me. Looking at the current situation... learning to become more self-reliant is definitely on my list... otherwise I would be sliding deeper into a miserable state.

The day is still long... lessons until 6pm today... I really feel like going back to pgp to sleep... sleeping is my form of escapism... besides reading that is.. but there isn't time to go library to get books. oh well.. and just too tired these days too. I wonder whether it is really depression... nothing serious definitely... but something definitely there.

In studio now... seems like no one is in studio on a nice Saturday afternoon... I'm procrastinating about work again... trying to come up with concept for design... but keep getting urges to go kbox-ing.. yesyes.. i'm a bad student... flipping through library books for inspiration but so far nothing has struck yet...

was talking to lingwei yesterday about stuff... and well made me think about a lot of things again... so in a limbo again... sometimes I wonder if pple are actually in love with the idea of being in love? Or is it just loneliness that drives pple to want to find a companion? not in the way of friends... just that little more... we are essentially selfish creatures... hardly do you find someone who doesn't put their own happiness first right? Grin.. I guess listening to jay chou's songs aren't helping... they're too angsty... haha.

I'm debating if I should go home today... tomorrow still have to go Bugis to do the urban design mod... pattern languages... omg.. totally blurred... the other mods are all looming... design concept by monday.. and I really have to set aside time for revit...

I can feel the depressing mood setting in... irritating... moping around is unpleasant. Hopefully burying myself in work.. or trying to.. will alleviate the problem... didn't manage to watch geisha either.. haha. oh well.. shall wait for someone to screen it in studio perhaps...=) poor students.. haha.

yikes... this time round it was quite bad... I missed 2326... which is not so bad... but I was late for studio!!! my god.. I was so paiseh... sigh.. this comes from walking back to PGP at 4am in the morning.. and sleeping the day away... the next time I shall not go back anymore liaoz.. got sleeping bag in studio can liaoz...

Now i'm in my room watching videos on youtube and waiting for my laundry to dry... wah lau.. I hate doing laundry... takes up so much blardy time... I know i'm wasting my time now... and I even did a mani and a pedi... haha.. it's been a long time... yes yes... i know i'm always saying how little time I have to do other things etc... it is true.. just that I don't feel like doing work tonight... after the horrendous nights we spent the past 2 days doing precedent studies and site model... But then again.. compared to DT's studio.. we are so lucky already...

Got to come up with a concept by Monday... yikes.. I hope mine will be unique.. otherwise no point already... argh... CNY is coming... but I have absolutely no enthusiasm for it... sigh. There isn't much meaning of it anymore lar.. since i rarely see my relatives nowadays...

My room is in a mess... need to mop and sweep soon... this weekend bah... should I make potato salad for studio on monday? hmm... i'll have to be home on sun then... oh well... see if got mood...
And I wanna watch geisha!!! CT pple... anyone interested??? SMS me alright... let's watch it this weekend leh...=) haha.. so if I get to watch it this weekend it'll be fated for me to spend that money... cos you all might not see my blog in time... rofl.

well. things aren't looking that good... I left my phone at home. dang.. now i have to go down to farrer park tom to get it from my mom before she goes to work... and I haven't done my precedent case study... and to top it all off.. I left my site analysis panels in the DDS comp! wth... now I can't email it... bleagh~ besides the pertinent fact that I don't quite know how to go about doing the case study... sigh... and i couldn't make it for celine's shop opening. wah lau. this really sucks...

Heard from del, wenzi, joce and Mzn... so that's one good thing... like mom said... we're all in different countries... sort of lar... but reunion I guess will have to wait till Jan 07 bah... cos I definitely won't be here in July... hmm... but when are the rest of you all coming back... we should plan a gettogether...

I can't blog much today anyway... nothing remotely cheerful either... still waiting for ep 17 of ISWAK to dl finish... argh... I shall try to do precedent case study now.

Well... today I was on time for the 9am lecture.... *applause* haha. Anyway it was Architectural Construction... I like the way the TBT went about the lecture... it's not at dry as we expected... Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs... hmm... never thought about it that way... but when he went through the semester outline... I felt that we were being dealt death sentences... Essentially if we die in studio... we die in AR2326 too...

It was a rainy dreary day again... and didn't help that studio was freezing cold... LR424 also cold... and we had lecture in total darkness... lights all off... yikes... we were all trying to write notes such that our words remained on the same line... haiz. But that's that... hopefully get a good group for project... then maybe got hope...

Then it was a mad rush to find a precedent case study... well, I found lots of interesting stuff... but nothing that could stand alone as a case study... so DC suggested Glenn Murcutt... and thank god Li Dan has the book... saviour sia. Hopefully I can get my hands on it soon! Monday must show work in progress... and Thursday is presentation liaoz. My scheduler got no space to write now... wth.

And of all things to happen, I fell sick. Nose running like watertap. Head aching like got anvil knocking on it. How to survive? Like that loh. Haha.. think that will be my catchphrase this week... Tommorow have to go for site visit again for photos... Please please to all the powers that be... let it be a sunny day...

I'm still going for gan-ma's boutique opening on Sunday.. yikes.. have to find a way to leave early... haiz. no choice... otherwise monday prepare to die.. haha. Anyway pple reading... excuse all my dreary and doomsday-ish writing... my only outlet for stress relief lar... life is still liveable... so don't worry about me yet...=)

I hope I can wake up on time tomorrow.

Yes.. today was another wet and dreary day... went for site visit... walked all the way from outram... to yankit rd... via the duxton plain park connector that is... If not for the fact that the connector was not very well maintained... and a bit boring... it actually is a pretty cool idea... but then again.. it could be because of that rain...

tried to sketch a bit in the park... in the end I fed those blardy bloodsucking mosquitoes... the grand total for standing in one spot for 15 minutes.. is SIXTEEN unbelieveably itchy bites. check out the triad on my wrist area... there's another triad on my elbow.. but too difficult to contort my camera angle... yup... i know i am wu liao... but well, when u're miserable on a site visit... you'll start doing stupid things alright...

yes.. and I just realised that I'm blogging "today's" events on "tomorrow".. haha. oh well. I have to sleep soon... otherwise i'll be a goner tomorrow... Urban Design and CAD here we go...

I wanted to start my new blog over the New Year... but as usual time got away from me and I procrastinated. So here is the much belated 1st post that I was telling you all about. And well, wad'ya noe... it's the momentous first day of school, synonymous with hell semester... others have things known as hell week, well we at the department of architecture have hell semester. *dry laughter turning hysterical*

I took a look at the design brief this time around and well, let's just say divine intervention is required. As I was telling Lingwei today... a name change might be in order to change my fortune... haha. On the brighter side, Tzewei and I were trying to make ourselves happier with our nice studio space... I guess once we give it the lived-in look, things will start to look better.=P

And the above is an aerial view of my project site... the design brief is an international youth hostel, those backpacker types... so if any of you reading this have any ideas... please buzz me or leave a tag message... i'll be most grateful...=P

After a very wet and cold site visit... the bunch of us from studio 7 went to Maxwell for dinner... yumyum... and then I had to go make my way to SGH to see Zhen Hao who had an op today... poor thing... we'll definitely go visit you at your house okie...=)

And here we have our poor patient acting cute...=) Yeap, it's good to see you're still the same old you even when you're not well... Get well soon! And I have to add that we had a good ole time suan-ing Von the Piggy as usual... who ask you to come so late and wake up so late.... 245... not pig then what... haha.... I tell you lar von... it has become a lifestyle habit for us... =P *runs aways from von*

I'm supposed to go meet the BH pple tomorrow, but honestly have no idea how to squeeze out the time... but sometimes no choice lar. juggle juggle. Please let us have good weather tomorrow! Otherwise our 2nd site visit will go down the drain together with the rainwater...

I'm going to post in excess today... cos got a lot of things that happened but I no time to blog... Christmas Eve... Penang... Darius's birthday.... Marcus's Birthday... yikes... hopefully can do it all fast...
